Remember how when you were a little girl, how you would always want to be with your parents all the time? Well, now that you are getting older, you may at times want no part of your parents--sometimes you miss them, and other times you wish they were never in your life. But what they do--you know, the limits, the rules, all of that--is just to protect you and keep you safe. Parents who set rules on you really care about you. And sometimes, you may just want some time to yourself. That's okay! Just say, "Mom, dad, can I please have some time alone for an hour?"
If they don't like your idea, try your best to talk things out. "I need my space and my time alone, and I would really appreciate it if you guys would respect that more." Don't explode, now! If they are still not liking your idea, leave it alone for a while. Come back to it later.....

Guess what. Not getting along with your parents is totally normal, especially for a tweens and teens. But as you get older, those nasty feelings you sometimes think about your parents changes, and before you know it you'll be feeling the way you did about them when you were three. :)
